When there is fire and/or water damage in your home or business, the first twenty-four hours are crucial to the restoration process. The decisions you make during this time will determine the speed and efficacy of returning your home or business back to working condition.
What to do when fire or water damage strikes:
1. Call your insurance agent
If it is normal business hours, you will want to call them as soon as you realize there has been damage to your home or business. If it is not normal business hours, call them on the next business day. It is important to determine what type of coverage you have with clean up and restoration.
2. Call Color Your World
If it normal business hours, call Color Your World at the store. The number is 618-395-0111.

Kevin and Dirk will work with you to access the damage and give you the best approach to restoring the damage.
3. Developing a Plan
Color Your World had been doing water and fire restoration long enough that we have worked with most insurance agents in the Olney and Richland country area. We will work with your insurance agent to determine damage and coverage. .
4. Clean Up
Once your insurance agent had determined coverage, clean up will begin. Depending on severity and weather conditions, this process will begin by getting dumpsters delivered to hold all items such as carpet and padding that are being discarded. A crew of workers will be at your house to start clean up.
5. Put Back
Once the damaged area of your home has been sufficiently cleaned and meets all the standards of the homeowner, Color Your World and the insurance agency, the process of putting your house back in order will begin. How this process will happen will greatly depend on the amount of fire or water damage that occurred. Color Your World has qualified staff to help you select flooring, paint colors and more. We also work with qualified contractors for any tasks that is not is our scope of work.
